President of Uruguay in Venezuela: The Great Homeland is to be refounded


Apr 07. ABN.- The just elected President of Uruguay, Jose “Pepe” Mujica, said that the Great Homeland is to be refounded, making reference to the integration of South American peoples.

Such statement was made by the Uruguayan President during a meeting with the Uruguayan community leaving in Venezuela, during his first official visit to this country.

In his speech, “Pepe” Mujica thanked Venezuelan willingness to help region’s countries in a selfless manner, with the sole conviction of achieving a real union that allow us to get together our potentialities.

Mujica underscored that no developed country in the world or countries that call themselves democrats offered effective help to achieve effective progress in Latin America.

Furthermore, the Uruguayan President said that education has to be taken as a fundamental axis for the progressive process taking place in the region.

Mujica arrived this Tuesday in Venezuela in order to meet on April 7 with his Venezuelan counterpart to strengthen bilateral relations, through the signing of new agreements on energy, technology, industry, military and agriculture.
