United States targets Brazil and Venezuela for their natural resources

Caracas, Aug 21 – The president of the Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela, Hugo Chavez Frias, affirmed that the United States has a perverse interest on the considerable natural and energy resources that Brazil and Venezuela have.

The above statement was issued during a meeting with Brazilian entrepreneurs, which took place at the Miraflores Presidential Palace, Caracas, opportunity used as well to endorse eight agreements on bilateral cooperation between both nations.

“The United States is desperate because they have a few reserves of its petroleum left. They are like the count Dracula, desperate by petroleum. That is the reason of their threats against us and against Brazil as well, after their recent findings (about their oil reserves),” Chavez stressed.

Therefore, the Venezuelan President stated: “I think someday Brazil might join the OPEC (Organization of Petroleum Exporting Countries) because they already count up significant oil reserves, but the United States has also set the eyes on the Amazon, that giant richness, that is why we should armor ourselves before that threat.”

Likewise, he mentioned the possibility of purchasing armored cars from Brazil, since he estimates that such are high-quality cars.

“We must be prepared to defend out resources,” President Chavez concluded.
