Stunning defeat to Exxon strengthens Venezuela’s oil sovereignty

London, March 18 ABN.- A Brittish court stated that does not proceed the injunction of the transnational ExxonMoil of freezing more than 12 billion dollar assets belonging to the state oil company Petroleos de Venezuela (PDVSA).

“I have decided that the legal order” to freeze assets dictated on January 24^th against PDVSA “has to be overturned”, declared to court the judge Paul Walker, responsible for the case.

“This is the beginning of the end of ExxonMobil harassment against PDVSA and Venezuela,” declares Venezuelan ambassador to London, Samuel Moncada.

PDVSA’s lawyers also expressed their satisfaction, while ExxonMobil’s lawyer, Catharine Otton-Goulder, expressed no comments so far.

Judge Walker will explain his decision on the coming hours.
